My wife and
I had just purchased a car dealership in late 2006. We cashed
in our 401K’s,
our life savings and took a giant step of faith that God had provided.
We moved 2100 miles from home because we
felt like we were obeying what God wanted us to do.
From a young
age we both had dreams of doing something big for God that would
impact lives. We dedicated our business to the Lord and thought
that we
could
use it as the tool to fund the things we wanted to accomplish for
his kingdom. Little did we know that it was the beginning of an
economic downfall that would see thousands of dealerships go out
of business.
The vision for our dealership quickly turned into just surviving.
With
the death of our vision came emptiness in our hearts. Just running
a dealership in survival mode was not fulfilling. The bible says
that without a vision, the people will perish. We truly felt like
we were
dying so my wife suggested that we pray for a new vision. I agreed
and
within a few weeks God began giving us the idea for HIS Commission.
With over
eighteen years in the car business I have sold cars to people
all over the United
States, building up a clientele of people
who continually call on me for their transportation needs. When
I became the owner of a dealership, I continued taking care of
the people who
I had dealt with as a salesman and sales manager. I found that
these
people would rather deal directly with the owner because they didn’t
have to go through the typical “games” of buying a car
that most dealerships play. I would find the vehicle they wanted,
give
them a great upfront price and treat them with honesty and respect
thereby saving them time and money. The idea for HIS COMMISSION
came out
of
this process.
